The first ODI match was played successfully on time after many crises, and after that, fans were waiting to see the 2nd ODI match between USA and Ireland, but as the cricket board of directors found a small quantity of COVID cases amongst the players and supportive staff, they postponed the tournament for testing of COVID-19 reports of the whole cricket team.
The general public was under stress as their entire staff went for COVID-19 testing, and the tenseness level was rising as Omicron infection spreads throughout the country. Both the team players are facing the distress of performing in the biggest tournament accurately for their team. Because they have to maintain their equality in playing games without any health issues. Younger players are worried that if their seniors are not allowed to play due to positive reports, the entire burden of the game will fall on their shoulders.
This evening, all players and sports-supportive members went out for testing. The final decision for the 2nd ODI match was based on participant teams’ negative reports. The latest news shows that one umpire was in contact with another positive case of COVID and after testing, its reports were found to be negative, with other umpires’ group negative reports of COVID-19 cases.
The final ICC confirmation was given to the whole cricket staff after reports were shared with them as they had seen negative reports on each member. The final dates were announced as the 2nd ODI match will be played on December 29th, 2021 and the very next 3rd ODI match scheduled on December 30th, 2021 without delay in the tournament due to any other harmful disease like Omicron.
As per ESPNCricinfo, changes were being made to the USA squad as some players were tested twice during the training period held on December 26th, 21st, and December 27th, 2021 for ODI matches and found positive reports.
Finally, after all of those stages have been completed, the players return after negative test results have been officially submitted to participate in the upcoming ODI tournament.
If there are no more new positive tests, the series will take place as scheduled on December 29th, 2021, the 2nd ODI match between the USA and Ireland and December 30th, 2021, the 3rd ODI match at Florida.
