Mumbai Indians (MI) have struggled in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) season and are already knocked out of the tournament. Nothing has gone right for them this season apart from the win that they registered in their ninth game of the season. Meanwhile, their pace bowler Tymal Mills has been ruled out of the rest of the season due to an ankle injury. The five-time champions have signed the middle-order batter from South Africa, Tristan Stubbs, as his replacement.
Mills played five matches for MI this season and picked up six wickets while also being on the expensive side in terms of his economy. Meanwhile, his replacement, Stubbs has featured in 17 T20 matches so far and has scored 506 runs at a strike rate of 157.14. He has been signed for his base price of INR 20 lakh and will join the MI squad soon. Mumbai Indians are scheduled to play the table-toppers Gujarat Titans in their next game at the Brabourne Stadium. It remains to be seen when Stubbs will be available for them to feature in IPL 2022.
