Blessing Muzarabani has returned to the Zimbabwe ODI squad for the upcoming home series against Afghanistan after missing out on the T20I series against Namibia. The right-arm quick was recently drafted in as a net bowler by the Lucknow Super Giants for the IPL 2022 season after his impressive stint in the PSL 2022 edition and it kept him out of international assignments. The 25-year-old is one of the upcoming bowlers in the world at the moment and will lead the bowling attack for Zimbabwe in the Afghanistan series. With 39 wickets in 30 ODIs, Muzarabani has proved to be a wicket-taking bowler in the 50-over format and his stats in the T20I format have been quite impressive as well since his debut in the format for Zimbabwe in 2018.

Another notable return to the squad has been skipper Craig Ervine who had fitness concerns in the final T20I against Namibia and was benched. Ryan Burl had missed the last two T20Is against Namibia after testing positive for Covid-19 has also been returned as well. Sean Williams is yet to be back in the squad after taking a compassionate leave while injuries to Richard Ngarava and Wellington Masakadza have kept the duo out as well.

Zimbabwe will be looking to better their performances after losing the recent five-match T20I series against Namibia 2-3. The three-match ODI series against Afghanistan starts on June 4 at the Harare Sports Club and will go on until the 9th of June. It will be followed by a three-match T20I series starting on the 11th of June and the series ends on the 14th of June. The series between Zimbabwe and Afghanistan will be part of the Cricket World Cup Super League.

Here is Zimbabwe Squad: Craig Ervine (captain), Ryan Burl, Regis Chakabva, Tendai Chatara, Tanaka Chivanga, Luke Jongwe, Takudzwanashe Kaitano, Clive Madande, Wesley Madhevere, Blessing Muzarabani, Dion Myers, Ainsley Ndlovu, Sikandar Raza, Milton Shumba, Donald Tiripano
