One of the Indian team’s most reliable players has been Ravindra Jadeja. Without him, the team’s balance suffers, which is the main reason India’s performance at the Asia Cup was unsuccessful. Team India must ensure that he stays healthy because both the T20 World Cup and the ODI World Cup will be held within the next 12 months. Former India international Saba Karim thinks that the medical professionals and team management should concentrate on Jadeja’s workload. Jadeja is a valuable member of the team and has consistently won games in every format, regardless of the game. Therefore, it is important to take care of his fitness.
“I think Jadeja is such a player who adds value in all three formats. But I think going ahead, not only Jadeja but even the team management and the medical team of team India, need to take a call in terms of his fitness whether he can continue to play all three formats or not and if not, then what is the most preferable choice for him,” said Karim. When the “rockstar” of Indian cricket will resume play after his injury is yet unknown. Saba Karim wants to see him participate in the T20 World Cup, though. In addition, he wants him to play in the forthcoming World Cup as well as the two Test matches against Bangladesh and the four against Australia. The previous picker also stated that he doesn’t want Jadeja to take a chance by participating in the bilateral series.
“I think India plays four Test matches at home and they play two Test matches against Bangladesh away and all these 6 test matches, because India is eying to qualify again for the world Test Championship final. It is very important for the medical team of team India to keep that in mind and manage his workload so that at least he is available for all these six Test matches because he brings so much to the table. “Now once we get the Test matches kind of sorted, then I look at the big events like the ICC World Cup events. I hope that he gets fit for the World Cup T20 and then next year it is the 50-over World Cup. So, I think keeping these two big events coming up shortly, I would love to see Jadeja play on all these three platforms,” said Karim.
