Ajinkya Rahane, a former test captain for India, and his wife Radhika welcomed their second child on Wednesday. Rahane announced the birth of a baby boy on social media. Rahane and Radhika were married in September 2014, and their daughter Aarya, who is now three, was born in October 2019. “My wife Radhika and I welcomed our son into the world this morning. Radhika is doing well, and the infant is in perfect condition. We want to express our gratitude for your love and blessings “Rahane tweeted. Rahane, who is not currently playing for India in any of the three formats, was benched following a streak of subpar outings in the game’s longest format. Rahane, who last represented India during the tour of South Africa, is planning a return to the Test team. He recently guided West Zone to the Duleep Trophy victory after returning from a groyne ailment. Last month, West Zone defeated South Zone in the final.
Rahane participated in this year’s Indian Premier League for the Kolkata Knight Riders after being released from the franchise. Rahane has participated in 82 Tests, 92 ODIs, and 20 T20Is so far. He hasn’t participated in a white-ball match since February of 2018. When India and Australia faced off in the 2020–21 Border–Gavaskar Trophy, Rahane had famously led India to victory. India won the second straight Test series in Australia with a 2-1 victory over that nation after dropping the first game of the series. Rahane currently has nearly 8,000 international runs under his belt, including 49 fifty-pluses and 15 centuries.
