It is no secret that Virat Kohli and Kevin Pietersen get along well, and the former England captain openly backed Kohli earlier this year when he was going through a hard spell. The right-handed former captain of India has been dominating the current T20 World Cup, and as the team prepares to play England in the decisive semifinal, Pietersen has a special request for Kohli. Virat Kohli tweeted a video of himself practising before the match against England. Commenting on Kohli’s post, Pietersen said: “Please have a day off Thursday, bud! You know I love you but just chill Thursday please.”

In the current competition, Kohli has been in excellent form, scoring three half-centuries, including the match-winning 82 against Pakistan at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. On Monday, Kohli was awarded the ICC Player Of The Month for October 2022. Kohli has been in outstanding form throughout the current T20 World Cup, amassing three half-centuries, including a match-winning effort of 82 against Pakistan. Along with Kohli, Sikandar Raza of Zimbabwe and David Miller of South Africa were also nominated for the honour, but Kohli ultimately prevailed.

In only four innings of batting in October, the 34-year-old Kohli produced three outstanding performances, including a miraculous 82* against Pakistan in the T20 World Cup. In the current tournament, he has also recorded half-centuries against Bangladesh and the Netherlands. When Pakistan reduced India to 31/4 as they were chasing 160 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, they were in serious trouble. However, Kohli led the charge with an incredible 82* knock from just 53 deliveries to help Rohit Sharma and company win the match.
