In the 16-man squad named on Thursday for Bangladesh’s one-day tour of India, Shakib Al Hasan will make a comeback. Shakib abstained from Bangladesh’s most recent ODI matches against Zimbabwe and the West Indies, although he captained the team at the Twenty20 World Cup in Australia. While batsmen Mosaddek Hossain, spinner Taijul Islam, and paceman Shoriful Islam were left out, batsmen Najmul Hossain and Yasir Ali also rejoined the one-day squad.
On December 1, India will arrive in Bangladesh for their first bilateral series there since 2015. Both teams will play two Test matches after the first two ODIs, which take place in Dhaka on December 4 and 7 and Chittagong on December 10, respectively. When India last visited Bangladesh, rain forced a tie in the sole Test, although the hosts won the ODI series 2-1.
Tamim Iqbal (captain), Liton Das, Anamul Haque, Shakib Al Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim, Afif Hossain, Yasir Ali, Mustafizur Rahman, Taskin Ahmed, Hasan Mahmud, Ebadot Hossain, Nasum Ahmed, Mahmudullah Riyad, Najmul Hossain, and Nurul Hasan make up the squad.
