On December 30, 2022, Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant was involved in a very dangerous accident. In addition to two cuts on his forehead, Pant also has injuries to his right wrist, ankle, toe, and back, as well as a torn ligament in his right knee.
Everyone was stunned to hear of Pant’s injury, including Ishan Kishan, another member of Team India. Playing in a Ranji Trophy game was Kishan. In order to sign autographs and pose for pictures with the spectators during the break, he moved closer to the goal line. At this point, the fans told him about Pant’s mishap. Kishan has now shared the experience he had after hearing the news.
“In the beginning, I was not really sure. I thought it must be a normal accident and people are making big news out of it, but later I got to know he was very serious and I was very worried. I can’t tell you how my heart rate was up throughout the Ranji Trophy game. I wish him all the very best and want him to recover soon because he is a gun player and I know he is a fighter. On the ground also we have seen him fighting and he will be back very soon,” said Kishan before opening the innings for India against Sri Lanka in the first T20I on Tuesday.
According to reports, Pant is currently not in danger and has been transferred from the intensive care unit to a private suite. The accident’s severity and the batter’s injuries mean that he will be out of commission for a considerable amount of time.
