Suresh Raina, a former cricketer for India, has joined the India Maharajas for the upcoming LLC Masters (LLC). The India Maharajas, who was unsuccessful in reaching the competition’s finals the previous season, will benefit from Raina’s involvement. Prior to hanging up his international batting gloves in August 2020, the left-handed batsman represented team India in 18 Tests, 226 ODIs, and 78 T20Is.
The cricketer, who is 36 years old, has 1605 runs in T20Is for India. Raina stated his delight about joining the league after signing with India Maharajas. The team’s whole attention, according to the former Chennai Super Kings (CSK) player, will be on winning the championship. “I am looking forward to being part of LLC Masters. The format is such that we will be representing India again. It is always a pleasure to represent your country. We would focus on bringing the trophy home this time. I am really looking forward to playing with all the legends,” said Raina as quoted by India Today.
The Co-Founder and CEO of the Legends League Cricket, Raman Raheja welcomed Raina and Harbhajan Singh and said, “We have added almost 20 new senior players for this season to the pool of 50 fifty players. We welcome Raina and Harbhajan to the Legends League Cricket. We hope to see some fireworks from these greats of the game for the India Maharajas.”
Three teams make up the LLC: the World Giants, Asia Lions, and India Maharajas. Gautam Gambhir will captain the India Maharajas, Shahid Afridi will captain the Asia Lions, and Aaron Finch will captain the World Giants. Global Giants won the title in the first season of the LLC, which began in 2021. Three clubs will be present, as they were in the inaugural season. The competition is slated to start in Doha on March 10. In the Asian Town Cricket Stadium, the opening game will feature India Maharajas vs. Asia Lions.
