KL Rahul, the captain of the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), noted his team’s batting performance against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on April 3 of the 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL). LSG lost to CSK by a score of 12 runs after failing to capitalize on their first-game triumph over the Delhi Capitals.
Rahul claimed that although his team batted really well, they were unable to maintain the early momentum. He also praised Kyle Mayers and Ravi Bishnoi for their work, saying they had contributed significantly to the squad. “While we batted well, we failed to take advantage of the slight advantage. Having played well against them for the West Indies, Kyle (Mayers) enters this match with the same form and purpose. It’s wonderful to see what he accomplished with the chance. I’ve played with Bishnoi for a while; when things aren’t going well, he gets wickets, puts his hand up, and limits runs. It’s encouraging to see different guys raise their hands “In a post-game presentation, Rahul stated.
He continued by saying that they lost because they didn’t take advantage of modest possibilities. The game did not go their way, he said, but they will mount a better recovery in the games to come. “Wouldn’t change the toss result; we lost because we failed to take advantage of the tiny opportunities. We got off to a terrific start but couldn’t continue. Rarely do we discover four or five men stuck in the border ropes; they had to cross and will do so again. In T20 cricket, we’ll take that. Today’s match didn’t go our way, but this is how we want to play moving forward “said Rahul.
KL Right after winning the toss, Rahul decided to bowl first. With one of the best powerplays (79/0) in IPL history produced by CSK’s opening pair of Devon Conway and Ruturaj Gaikwad, CSK gave LSG a 218-run goal. After ferocious blows from Kyle Mayers (53), Marcus Stoinis (21), Nicholas Pooran (32), and Ayush Badoni (23), LSG attempted a comeback but failed with a score of 205/7.
